The 2014 PAYCE Lights of Christmas Is Set To Benefit Iconic Local Charities

The 'Lights of Christmas presented by PAYCE' event at St Mary's Cathedral will benefit two of Sydney's most long-standing community charities – the Brown Nurses Ministry, based in Glebe and the Matthew Talbot Hostel in Woolloomooloo.

The two charities selected to benefit from this year's event were announced by PAYCE's General Manager, Dominic Sullivan.

All proceeds raised from the purchase of a series of specially chosen Christmas cards displaying stunning images from the light show will go directly to the nominated charities.

"PAYCE will also match the proceeds from the Christmas card sales for the Brown Nurses, taking PAYCE's charitable contribution to the two charities to over $20,000," Dominic Sullivan said.

"The Brown Nurses have been providing in-home support to socially and economically disadvantaged individuals and families with complex care needs for the past 101 years".

Dominic Sullivan believes that, "it's important at this time of year that we give back to charities that directly help the underprivileged, sick and poor in our City".

Kirrawee Oak Road North Shines Again For Christmas

PAYCE General Manager - Dominic Sullivan and Managing Director, Brian Boyd said PAYCE stepped in when it was made aware that the lights had not been in place for several years.

"We had a number of close discussions with the shopkeepers and local council and many were enthusiastic to see them back again," he said.

PAYCE General Manager, Dominic Sullivan said the great news was that the cooperation and approval of all parties was immediately forthcoming and the strip is now aglow with lighting effects in many of the trees. Mr. Sullivan was very pleased with the outcome and thanked all involved for their commitment to the purpose.

"The lights add to the remarkable displays by local residents in home fronts throughout the Shire and help convey the spirit of Christmas in 2014.

"Many people like to drive around to see the Christmas lighting displays over the next couple of weeks so they should put Oak Road North on their route," Mr Sullivan said.
